Education and Development aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment provided to children and young adults with brain and spinal cord tumors.
Within the framework of the direction, the Foundation conducts research and educational activities aimed at informing patients and their loved ones, the general public, as well as training doctors. The work of the department results in various information products — guidelines, books, videos, articles, brochures, campaigns, as well as scientific conferences, seminars, and educational events. Thanks to the referral, a community of medical specialists is being formed who work with patients with brain tumors.
The neuro-oncological seminar is an educational project of the Foundation, in which a team of experts working with children and young adults with brain tumors comes to different regions of the country. For 2-3 days, doctors from leading medical institutions give lectures on various topics, from the first symptoms of the disease to family life after completing long-term treatment for a child, as well as the specifics of working in an interdisciplinary team and providing support and self-help for emotional burnout. In addition, together with the doctors who came to the seminar, the experts analyze the complex cases of patients they have encountered in their practice.
The Foundation helps to improve the skills of medical specialists of various profiles (oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiotherapists, radiologists, endocrinologists, epileptologists, rehabilitologists, pediatricians, neurologists, intensive care specialists, psychologists, etc.). With the support of the Foundation, specialists participate in international events (conferences, seminars, congresses), internships, advanced training courses, professional training programs.
Meetings of medical specialists for the exchange of professional experience. Doctors share their knowledge after attending conferences and taking advanced training courses, and also jointly analyze complex clinical cases from their practice.
