Kirill recently turned 9 years old. He is a very active and versatile child. Before his illness, the boy was engaged in football, tennis and karate. I also enjoyed taking classes in mental arithmetic. Kirill is really looking forward to the end of the treatment, and he will be able to return to his hobbies again.

In 2022, the boy developed hormonal disorders, with which his parents sought advice from an endocrinologist. After the examination, the doctor recommended that the child undergo an MRI scan. It turned out that this was how the brain tumor manifested itself. Kirill underwent a neurosurgical operation to install a special shunt, which helped to normalize the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid. After that, he underwent several courses of radiation and chemotherapy, which allowed him to stop the growth of the tumor for a year.

Unfortunately, there was a relapse in September 2024. The child was again prescribed chemotherapy. However, this is not enough to cope with the disease. Kirill now needs expensive proton radiation therapy, a treatment in which accelerated ionizing particles affect the tumor and cause the death of cancer cell DNA. The child’s family cannot pay for it on their own.
